I have been a movement lover all my life and a dressage rider from my mid-teens to late 40s. In the mid 90s I started Pilates to improve my riding skills and loved how Pilates was so different from any other fitness I had done.
After my children were in school full time, I took Pilates certification with a view to having other riders as my clients. Who came instead were people with all kinds of health issues and various goals. Quickly realising I was under-educated to help these clients, I found a mentor and became her student for over ten years. During that time I was exposed to the work of Irene Dowd and continue studying with Irene to this day.
In 2012 I became immersed in the world of biomechanics, certifying as a Nutritious Movement® Restorative Exercise Specialist (RES) in 2013 and becoming a staff teacher for Nutritious Movement® in 2016. This lead to selling my Pilates studio and focussing on this work to date.
I continue my training with Katy Bowman, taking advanced training workshops around the world. I have attended and taught at many RES weeks where other teachers are certified and acted as mentor to many teachers going through the NM training. I am also a Dynamic Aging trained teacher, and a two-day Move Your DNA workshop teacher (one of a small handful worldwide).
Teachers and organisations that lend their expertise to me include:
Stott Pilates - Pilates Certification 2000 (Toronto)
Eileen Birks - Pilates and anatomy mentor (Nelson)

The land I am standing on today is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. I also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
